Y&R Spoilers: Kyle Is Powerless – Holden Exploits Claire’s Vulnerability
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) is generally confident and in control. But Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) has him off his game for months.
It would be most accurate to say that he’s allowed Audra to distract him. Plus, he’s willfully engaged in revenge plays with no logical endgame.
Meanwhile, Kyle’s behavior has served to unnerve Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) to the point that she’s taking a break from him. Her trip to Los Angeles, California, with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) is impulsively taken and is a clear reaction to all that’s been revealed since the notorious France trip.
A Complete Debacle In The South Of France
France is for lovers. At least that’s the slogan Kyle was hoping to play off of when he suggested taking Claire to Paris.
His engagement ring presentation failed, with that intended romantic night at the Abbott mansion serving to agitate Claire rather than endear him to her. That point in the plot felt more believable than others.
It’s been debatable watching Mealor and Silver’s characters go at it since the summer. Audra’s fascination with Kyle doesn’t jibe with the relationship she formed with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic).
Kyle’s willingness to see how far Audra would go in the train car at the villa in the south of France was very soapy.
He knew his family was nearby and that Audra was bound to offer her spin even if he trapped her. So, his pretending to go along with her was a needed stretch to push that part of the plot.
Audra Charles Is More Determined Than Before
This summer was about trying to please Victor Newman (Eric Braeden). Viewers recall that he made one deposit to Audra’s account, so she had seed money for her business.
But Audra’s hope for Vibrante was eviscerated after she failed to trap Kyle. Victor wasted no time in summoning her to the Ranch after everyone returned home from France. He told her to return his seed money and that their deal was done.
Audra doesn’t blame herself for that failure. Of course, she never does that. Instead, Kyle is the sole target of her vengeance, as those at the Neil Winters Jazz Club heard. That spells continued trouble for Kyle.
Holden Novak Is In Disguise
Kyle can’t see it yet. But Holden should prove to be helpful to him, but in a way that Holden doesn’t intend.
He was involved with Audra when they were in LA and hasn’t provided Claire with full details. Holden cared deeply for Audra and wanted to reconnect when he first arrived in town.
Claire also doesn’t know that Holden was never fired by Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn). That’s sure to eventually be known and will make Owens’ character look bad.
While Holden’s attraction to Claire is genuine, he also has an Audra problem. She doesn’t like Claire and will likely inject herself into whatever pairing Holden might realize. So, Audra could eventually help her see beneath his facade.
