Y&R Spoilers: Cane Willing to Compromise – Jill’s Wisdom Helps Billy

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) was on a mission to take over the world, or at least take control of the legacy businesses in his adopted hometown.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane Open To Compromise – Jill's Influence Also Helps Billy

Adoption is a keyword because a force of nature has just returned to Genoa City, Wisconsin, and Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) considers Cane a son.

Of course, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is Jill’s actual son. Cane was the man who falsely claimed to be Jill’s child all those soapy years ago when Daniel Goddard (Cane) originally embodied this character.

Time caused Jill to learn the truth about Cane’s true identity. More recently, that part of his backstory has been mined, with the recast to Flynn revising the character or, as devoted viewers recall, writing Cane back to his unethical ways.

All Those Soapy Years Ago When Ethan Atkinson Arrived

Ethan Atkinson is Cane’s real name. It’s the one his parents, the late Colin Atkinson (played by the late, great Tristan Rogers) and Genevieve Atkinson (played by Genie Francis, who was Rogers’ longtime castmate on General Hospital), gave him.

Cane debuted as the man from Australia who worked at Neil Winters’ (played by the late, great Kristoff St. John) jazz club, Indigo.

Devoted fans loved when Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) revived the jazz club, recreating it at the Genoa City Athletic Club, which Flynn’s version of Cane recently purchased.

Goddard’s edition of Cane eventually married Neil’s daughter, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), and they had twins. They divorced, remarried, and later divorced again, with Cane leaving to search the world for his father in 2019.

Why Create Aristotle Dumas In France?

Aristotle Dumas was the alter ego Cane created after his father acquired, a nice term, money and a villa from a woman in the south of France.

Arabesque was formed, with Colin wanting Cane to use that conglomerate, which rivals Newman Enterprises, to remake his life in GC.

Colin’s intentions were good, and Cane insists that his father reformed his life, sought redemption, had his best interests, Lily’s, and the twins in mind. Viewers saw Rogers’ terrific last scenes, which were recorded just before his passing.

Cane took what his father told him, which is driving his goal of following through with whatever the plan was that Colin suggested. So, Aristotle was a means to an end that remains cloaked, which makes this a compelling storyline.

Jill Abbott Serves Two Roles

Billy needs to make it right with his mother. He bollixed his run at Chancellor, and that forced her to sell the company to Victor.

Cane needs to take Jill’s advice and change course. She is the one person who can speak to whatever Cane believes Colin’s intentions were when he gave him the fortune that created Arabesque.

Jill’s trip to town is something she sees as vital. Billy needs to be stabilized. Cane respects Jill and should be influenced by her always wise advice. Because she was Colin’s wife, he is part of Jill’s family, whether or not Billy agrees.
