‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Noah Needs His Sister, And Nick Needs His “Super Girl”

Summer bid Genoa City arrivederci, as they say in Italy, and set her sights on Milan to oversee operations for her fashion house, Marchetti.

Right now, there are too many stories Summer should be involved in, and her absence on the soap is highly evident.

First, let’s start with the obvious: her big brother, Noah Newman (Lucas Adams), was recently involved in a serious car accident and was in a medically induced coma.

Unusually, she wasn’t contacted to be part of this Newman family crisis. Most of the family has already arrived in Los Angeles to visit Noah.

Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) are in LA now. Summer should be present for her dad, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), and her mom, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

In the November 4th episode of Y&R, Noah awakened from his coma. The Newmans were worried sick that they would lose him. Nick could use a warm hug from his “Supergirl” right about now.

Plus, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Victor Newman’s (Eric Braden) plan to use Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) AI software could affect her business.

Summer could soon be facing the loss of her company if Phyllis follows through with her selfish ambitions.

Phyllis isn’t thinking very clearly, and she’s definitely not concerned about how her actions could affect people whom she claims to care about.

Victor plans to target Jabot, which would include Marchetti, a subdivision of the Abbot family company. Additionally, Summer needs to return to tell Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) a big “I told you so.”

Kyle’s girlfriend, Claire Newman (Hayley Erin), recently slept with Holden Novak (Nathan Owens). When Kyle finds out, he’ll be heartbroken.

Kyle also needs someone to help him with Harrison Newman-Abbott (Redding Munsell) while Claire is still taking her journey of self-discovery. Summer loves that adorable little guy, and she must be missing him at this point. He needs a stable mother figure.

Many fans had also hoped that Summer, Kyle, and Claire might end up in a soapy love triangle before she left the show last May.

It would be fun to see the two young women duke it out for Kyle’s affections. When Allison Lanier exited from Y&R, she said she wanted to “grow in a different direction.”

Hunter King As Summer Newman

Hunter King’s portrayal of Summer Newman was beloved. King was the first Summer, and many fans still miss her. Fans find her better suited for the role than Lanier.

Lanier is an outstanding actress, but some still associate Summer’s true spirit with King. The chemistry between King and Michael Mealor was also off the charts. King could easily reprise the role and do it justice.

Another reason Summer should come back is that she’s been mentioned quite often lately. It can’t be a coincidence that her name has been on everybody’s lips.

Summer is a pivotal character, and her presence on the soap is sorely missed. Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) should never have quit their careers to work with their boyfriends.

If Summer returns, she could bring Marchetti with her and rehire her two best employees.   Also, it’s November sweeps. Considering all the new faces on Y&R, it would be refreshing to see a familiar face back on the canvas.
