Luke Grimes is back in the saddle, and he’s giving Yellowstone fans something to look forward to. Luke is starring in the new Kayce Dutton spinoff, Y: Marshal, and we finally have a glimpse of the new series.

The show will have a mid-season premiere on CBS, so we’ll likely have to wait until spring of 2026 to watch the first episode. So far, we know that Luke will be joined by Yellowstone castmates Gil Birmingham, Brecken Merrill, and Mo Brings Plenty. There has been no word about Kelsey Asbille’s involvement in the series.

Luke will reprise his role of Kayce Dutton as he trades the Dutton Ranch for the U.S. Marshals. The official logline reads: “With the Yellowstone Ranch behind him, Dutton joins an elite unit of U.S. Marshals, combining his skills as a cowboy and Navy SEAL to bring range justice to Montana, where he and his teammates must balance family, duty, and high psychological cost that comes with serving as the last line of defense in the region’s war on violence.”

Luke shared the first teaser for the show on his Instagram account, and it is very brief. In just a few seconds, viewers can see Kayce in a U.S. Marshals uniform. He’s armed and riding on horseback as he pursues a dusty SUV. And that’s it! Still, it’s enough to get fans excited. They left comments like, “This is gonna be so good!!! An iconic character, so brilliantly portrayed & who fully deserves more of his story to be told 🔥” and “I can’t wait! Kayce is my boy!”

Another commenter asked, “Isn’t he going to be on Beth & Rip’s show, ‘Dutton Ranch,’ too?” Dutton Ranch, the spinoff starring Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly, has begun filming too, but there’s no word on whether there will be any crossover. Stay tuned!
