Back in February, 17 characters’ lives were left in the balance after two limos, driven by Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash), were involved in accidents.

Charity’s vehicle plunged into an icy lake, with Suzy Merton (Martelle Edinborough) dying on impact.

Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) was the second villager to pass away after she lost too much blood in the ambulance, before Amy Barton (Natalie Ann Jamieson) later succumbed to hypothermia in hospital.
It was later revealed that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) had inadvertently caused the accident after drugging his brother, Noah (Jack Downham), who had been wandering through the woods that night.

During Tuesday’s (October 28) episode, which is now available to stream on ITVX, the villagers awaited news of the inquest into Amy, Leyla and Suzy’s deaths.
After arriving late to the depot, Amy’s mum, Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), received a call from her son-in-law, Matty (Ash Palmisciano). She asked Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) to cover for her so she could meet Matty and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) at the shop.
The trio read the coroner’s report on the limo crash together, before confirming that their loved ones’ deaths had been ruled as “accidental”.
“I guess that’s that then. Accidental death for everyone who passed in the crash,” Jacob revealed.
Kerry noted: “We knew it was coming,” before Matty said: “Something about seeing it written down, it just feels so final.”

Kerry went on: “Well, at least now we can concentrate on all the good times. That’s what the girls would have wanted, isn’t it?”
Matty then said that he was “scared” of losing Amy for good and didn’t want to let go of the “little things”, with Kerry saying that they needed to keep talking about her to keep her memory alive.
She then poured them all a glass of bubbly to toast Leyla and Amy, just before her boss Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) walked in. Not understanding the emotional context of the situation, Jai fired Kerry on the spot.
