There was a lot packed into the February 12 episode of General Hospital! Curtis (Donnell Turner) was revealed to be the father of Portia’s (Brook Kerr) baby, which prompted him and Jordan (Tanisha Harper) to discuss their future, while Portia and Isaiah (Sawandi Wilson) did the same. Meanwhile, Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) agreed to date just as Maxie (Kirsten Storms) awoke from her coma, Trina (Tabyana Ali) got advice from Ava (Maura West) on how to handle her strained relationship with her mom, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) had another breakthrough with Gio (Giovanni Mazza), and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) set some ground rules with Chase (Josh Swickard). Here are all the details.

Overwhelmed after volunteering to bring Valentine’s Day treats for James’s class, Nathan sought out Lulu’s help, so she took him shopping for PTA-approved party favors and helped him assemble the goodie bags. Lulu was caught off guard when Nathan abruptly changed the subject from rebuilding his relationship with James to his uncertainty about what was happening between them. She was surprised to learn that he’d gone to Nina for advice, but revealed that she’d talked to her mom for the same reason. Despite the complicated situation with Dante and Maxie, Nathan confessed he wanted to be with her, and Lulu confided she felt the same way.
Let’s Do This: Despite the odds stacked against them, Lulu (Alexa Havins) and Nathan (Ryan Paevey) wanted to be together.
Sleeping Beauty
In Boston, Felicia, Georgie, and James had their weekly visit with Maxie. James got upset when Georgie commented that their mom couldn’t see his Valentine’s cards, but Felicia reassured her grandson that Maxie could feel their love. Taking turns to spend time alone with Maxie, Felicia and Georgie stepped out so James could speak privately with his mom. He told her that he loved her the best, which is why he said no when a classmate asked him to be her Valentine, and he wanted her to wake up so she could watch him play hockey.
Out in the hallway, Georgie cried to Felicia that she hadn’t meant to upset James, but she missed her mom so much. Trading places with her brother, Georgie threw herself on top of Maxie and begged her mother to wake up, while in the waiting area, James reported to Felicia that everyone at school wanted to meet his real father. Then it was Felicia’s turn for alone time with Maxie, and she broke down in tears as she told her daughter how she and Spinelli had tried to keep life normal for the kids. After telling Maxie how much she was loved and how much the family missed her, Felicia pleaded with her daughter to wake up, then kissed her forehead. Later, Felicia and the kids were getting ready to head home to Port Charles when the kids began bickering about whether to go to the bookstore or the ice rink on the way to the airport. Much to their surprise, Maxie appeared at the door to her room, announcing that her son wouldn’t be skating without a helmet.
Mother Knows Best
While babysitting Bailey Lou, Brook Lynn and Chase reminisced about how they first started falling in love back when they were pretending the little girl was theirs to hide Maxie’s daughter from Peter August. Chase said that even then, he knew what an amazing mother Brook Lynn would be, and he couldn’t wait for them to have a child of their own. Noticing his wife’s hesitation at that comment, Chase assured her that he wasn’t trying to pressure her into adoption. When Brook Lynn confided that she’d made progress in her relationship with Gio and didn’t want to jeopardize that closeness, Chase agreed to wait until they were both ready to explore adoption. Then, Chase set out for his first day back at work as a patrolman.
Gio stopped by later and opened up to his mom about his fear that, amid her family’s crisis with Anna, Emma would move back to San Francisco. Although she understood his concern, Brook Lynn thought it was too soon for Gio to worry that Emma wasn’t going to come back. And if it came down to it, she added, Gio could go to San Francisco to sweep Emma off her feet and convince her to return. Next, Gio gave Bailey Lou her favorite snack of cheese and crackers, prompting Brook Lynn to reminisce about the few times she’d babysat for him when he was little. Gio recalled how excited he was whenever she visited during her music tours, and how he took him to his first concert. He then shared that he’d been so angry when he found out she was his mother, but he now thought he was lucky to grow up with a cool cousin who turned out to be his mom.
Beyond The Badge
Having invited Jordan to his office, Dante filled her in about Anna’s psychotic break and explained that Laura had offered him the commissioner position permanently. The difference between detective and administrator had been bigger than he’d realized, and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to remain as commissioner. Plus, there was the pressure of filling Anna’s shoes. Jordan praised him as a natural leader and urged Dante to find a way to make the job his own because she knew from having been his boss that the cops on the PCPD respect him. He jokingly asked her if she wanted her old job back, but Jordan demurred that being the commissioner wasn’t where her head was at these days. Then, she got a text from Curtis that he was headed back to her condo.
Later, Dante called Chase in for a meeting to check in, and Chase groused that after years of working cases together as detectives, they were now patrolman and commissioner. Acknowledging that Chase had always been a good cop, Dante wanted to make sure that Chase wasn’t going to have issues taking orders from him and respect the limits of being a patrolman — i.e., no side investigations to build a case against Michael. As Chase flashed back to holding Michael’s key ring with the key to Willow’s house, Dante promised not to interfere in the investigation, and Chase ultimately agreed to do the same.
And The Father Is…
Portia announced to Trina, Isaiah, and Curtis that Curtis was the baby’s father. As an elated Trina hugged her father, Isaiah congratulated Curtis, then excused himself. Trina also headed out, leaving Curtis and Portia to speak privately. The exes agreed to finalize their divorce by establishing joint custody so they could focus on being parents to their children and not fighting with one another. Meanwhile, under the spray of the locker room shower, Isaiah gave in to his disappointment over the test results. When he reentered the locker area, Portia was waiting for him. They agreed that they’d hoped the baby would be his, but they still wanted to be together. When Isaiah worried that Curtis would be a problem, Portia reassured him that she and her ex had already agreed to joint custody. Then, he asked if she had an issue with Jordan being around her child, and Portia snarked that the relationship wouldn’t last long because no one could live up to Curtis’s impossible expectations.
Back at Jordan’s house, Curtis told his girlfriend that he was going to be a father again. She asked if Trina knew about the test results, and Curtis shared that his daughter had also been there and was thrilled but still struggling to come to terms with the situation. As far as Portia, she took the news of the paternity test results better than he’d hoped. Relieved that the fighting with his ex was behind him, all that was left to do was amend the paperwork and file it so he would be divorced. Then, Curtis and Jordan recommitted to living their lives together.
Food For Thought
Meeting up with Ava at Haven café, Trina revealed that her mom finally took the paternity test. While relieved that her dad was the baby’s father, she was still angry with her mom over the whole situation and wasn’t sure how she could move past that disappointment and trust Portia again. Promising to support Trina no matter what she decided, Ava pointed out that you took a chance on the other person in any relationship, and despite the mistakes Portia has made, she loved Trina. Drawing upon her own experience when she cut Kiki out of her life — and then lost the chance to rebuild their relationship when her daughter tragically died — Ava said she’d rather have her daughter exactly how she was than live without her. Although she couldn’t imagine not having her mother in her life, Trina moaned about how different her family was going to look with Jordan, Isaiah and a baby in the mix. Stating that different didn’t necessarily mean bad, Ava reminded Trina that she held the power to decide how things moved forward with her mother.
