Emmerdale’s Moira shaken in ITVX release as police issue update on missing Cain

The following article contains spoilers from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) is struggling in Emmerdale. Following Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) disappearance, she’s been left to parent two young boys alone, and run Butlers Farm.
Cain’s gone AWOL because John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), the man who killed his son, is on the run and he wants to find him. A few weeks ago, Caleb Miligan (William Ash) helped John get to Rotterdam, on the condition that he wouldn’t ever return to the Dales.
While Caleb thought this was a good idea, Cain didn’t. He packed a bag and left for France, convinced that John needed to face some sort of consequence for murdering Nate.
Moira and Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) have tried calling Cain, but he hasn’t picked up.

Amid this frustration, Moira is busy trying to keep Butlers Farm from sinking after a difficult year, and ensuring Kyle and Isaac are looked after. A few days ago, matters were made worse when she realised Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) was late opening the garage.
She went to find him, but Kammy refused to budge until he had eaten his breakfast. Unbeknownst to Kammy, it was another thing on Moira’s shoulders, and the weight was becoming too much to handle.
As she got to work on another job in a field, Moira felt unwell and collapsed. She was found by Matty Barton (Ash Palmsciano), who feared his mum was getting sick again following her brain tumour.
Moira reassured Matty and said that she just wasn’t feeling 100%. Matty argued that her life would be better if Cain stopped being selfish and came home, and Moira knew he was making a good point.
In the latest episode, Matty was still helping out at Butlers because Isaac had caught Moira’s bug. Once Kyle had returned from school, Moira realised he was hiding a football trophy. He explained that he didn’t want to tell her about it, because she’s got enough going on.

Moira felt awful, and it served as another sign that things would be much easier if Cain remembered that his family are waiting for him at home.
She called his number but it went straight to voicemail. After leaving a message, Moira was surprised when Cain called back.
Unfortunately, her husband wasn’t on the other end. It was actually a police officer, revealing that Cain is now in Dover, and has been arrested.
What trouble has he landed in now?
Could it be something to do with John?

Cain will return this week, but he really won’t be in a position to help Moira. In fact, he’s probably going to end up making things worse.
Reliant on booze to help him get through the day, Cain seems reluctant to talk about John and whether he actually found him.
Moira tries to tell him that he’s a family man and needs to step up – and reminds him of the fact it’s Zak’s anniversary coming up, but Cain can’t hear any of it.
Belle (Eden Taylor Draper) and Sam (James Hooton) are crushed when Cain fails to show at their dad’s grave.
Who will help Cain feel better?
