Emmerdale’s Moira and Cain left furious after confronting Celia

Emmerdale’s Moira and Cain Dingle were left fuming tonight, following a tense showdown with Celia Daniels. After confronting the villain over her fraudulent activities, the couple made it clear that they couldn’t be paid off. But how will Celia respond to their hostility?

In last night’s episode, Moira discovered that Celia had been forging her signature on numerous fake invoices, in a money-laundering scam. Furious Moira publicly demanded answers, but Celia managed to manipulate the situation by goading Moira into slapping her.

Worried about being implicated, Moira decided not to report the scam to the police. Instead, she and Cain agreed to confront Celia together.

At the start of tonight’s episode, Cain was ready to take action but was met with some hesitation from his wife. Moira was worried that having her name on the dodgy documents would land her in trouble.

Cain reminded Moira that they “need answers” and managed to convince her to go through with their plan. “She can’t grass you to the police because she’s the one that’s bent,” he said, assuring her that they’d “put a stop to it”.

Celia was less than impressed to see the angry couple in her home. She tried to play things off as “just business” but her calm demeanour wavered when Moira mentioned calling the authorities.

“Look, I can see you’re both upset and that is the last thing I want,” she reasoned. “If you let me talk through things, I promise you it’ll be worth your while to listen.”

Handing Moira a file of paperwork that she “made some adjustments” to, Celia encouraged her business partner to highlight anything that concerned her. However, Moira insisted she just wanted out of their deal, despite losing a lot of money in the process.

In a last ditch attempt to gain favour, Celia revealed she had transferred the profits from the shady deal into Moira’s account. She also offered the couple a large wad of cash as a “gesture of goodwill”.

Unfortunately for the villain, irritated Moira turned down her bribe, telling Cain she’s “quite sure” they shouldn’t take the money, before they both stormed out. “You gonna let her get away with that?” Ray asked his mother, to which she replied: “Have you met me? Of course not.”

“But by the time they realise how deep a mess they’re in, we will be long gone,” she added, ominously.
