Emmerdale star announces exit as end for evil villain Celia is confirmed
Emmerdale fans will be able to breathe a sigh of relief as the village will soon see the back of villainous newcomer Celia Daniels. But as her reign of terror comes to a close, will she slip away quietly or go out with a bang?
Since her arrival to the Dales, it was clear that Celia wasn’t someone to be messed with. Her blunt demeanor quickly developed into a nasty streak, as she and her son Ray Walters manipulated Dylan Penders and April Windsor into dealing drugs for them.

And it wasn’t just vulnerable teens that the evil duo had been targeting, as this week’s special episode revealed that the pair had been exploiting helpless individuals and holding them prisoner in a derelict building.
The harrowing modern slavery storyline focused on Bear Wolf as he, and others, were offered lodgings by Ray in exchange for manual labour.

However, viewers can rest assured that Celia will soon be exiting the soap, as actor Jaye Griffiths has confirmed her “finite” stint in the Dales. But will April’s upcoming arrest lead to the villain’s downfall?
Addressing whether she knew the conclusion of the dark storyline when she first landed the role, Griffiths said: “I knew it was finite, which I am very sad about, because I would like to stay forever, but it’s such a strong arc that – yes. I could have just said that, yes.”

The actor shared her hope that the storyline will make viewers more aware of modern slavery and help them realise that “it’s not happening somewhere far, far away, it’s happening next door.”
“She has a line to Ray, ‘we never take local’. You don’t take people who will be missed, you take the waifs and strays, and you give them purpose, you give them routine, and that lulls them, and you don’t give them any options,” Griffiths explained.
“I mean, it’s hideous. It’s hideous. Sometimes, when I read the script, I think, ‘really? You’re going to make me say that?’ Just when you think she’s gone quite far enough, they’ll make me go a bit further! So yes, it’s horrendous. Hopefully, maybe conversations will start to be heard. Maybe a question will run through people’s minds.”
