Emmerdale confirms heartbreak as Robert chooses between Aaron and Kev

The arrival of a man called Kev (Chris Coghill) sparked a new storyline for Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale.
When Kev knocked on the door of the Sugden household, Robert was incredibly surprised – but certainly pleased – to see him.
He invited the man in and quickly, we learnt that Robert and Kev met while in prison. Kev seemed quite focused on the romantic vibe between him and Robert. They kissed, and then Kev confirmed that he’s actually married to Robert.
Kev had been sent behind bars for armed robbery. Despite this, he was allowed out on day release because he’s unwell and only has six months left to live. Reeling in the shock, Robert was quick to agree to Kev’s request of visiting him everyday once he goes back to prison.
After Victoria Sugden’s (Isabel Hodgins) brief interaction with the new face, Robert revealed more about him. He said that after getting brutally attacked in prison, Kev was the man to put a stop to things.

Believing that he’d be stuck inside for fourteen years, Robert began to create a new life for himself, and it involved marrying Kev, knowing he’d offer some protection.
It wasn’t exactly a romantic love story, as Kev’s extreme violence saw him placed in solitary confinement.
It was a lot for Vic to take in, but Robert wasn’t finished with the plot twists. He told his sister that Kev is dying and if he stays with him until his death, he’ll inherit all of Kev’s money.
It’s a pretty harsh plan on Robert’s part, even more so given Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) doesn’t have a single clue that Kev even exists, let alone is married to the man he loves.
In tomorrow’s instalment, Vic reiterates to Robert that she’ll happily tell Aaron everything if he doesn’t. With Robert torn over who’s heart to break, Victoria later spots a visiting order from Kev, and feels at her wits’ end with her brother’s constant drama.
On Thursday, Robert heads to the prison to see Kev, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll carry on with the plan or not.
If Kev learns about Robert and Aaron, just how will he react?

Could Aaron be in even more danger, days on from John Sugden’s (Oliver Farnworth) disappearance?
John has now vanished from the village after going on the run. This only happened because Caleb Miligan (William Ash) helped him get to Rotterdam.
John had threatened Caleb and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), telling them that he had a scheduled email ready to send to the police, detailing what really happened to Anthony Fox.
The character said that if he was murdered or reported, he would ensure the police found out about Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly) killing her father.
Desperate to protect his wife, Caleb smuggled John across the border in the back of a truck.
Before John left for good, he deleted the email and told Caleb the location of Anthony’s body.
