Meanwhile, Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) find that, despite their honesty, their marriage is still deeply troubled, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) is drawn further into the darkness and Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) struggle when their relationship heats up.

Charity discovers the results of the paternity test when Ross Barton (Michael Parr) pressures her into chasing them up. She’s wracked with guilt when she sees the excitement in Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) and Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) over the baby, and it’s compounded further when Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) plans a date for the two of them.

Unravelling quickly, Charity unburdens herself to a concerned Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), revealing that the baby is her and Ross’. While Chas encourages her to admit the truth, Charity is well aware that the truth would destroy both her marriage and her relationship with Sarah.

Unable to deal with anymore, Charity decides to book an abortion.

The tension is unbearable at Smithy Cottage, with Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) utterly unable to live with April after what happened with Leo (Harvey Rogerson), with Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) unsure about how to proceed.

Guilty and struggling, April resolutely announces that she’ll stay with ‘friends’, while secretly taking Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) up on his offer for a room, though his plan to bring her further under control is scuppered when Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) offers her a room at the B&B. While Rhona and Marlon are relieved, Ray seethes.

Elsewhere, having opened up to Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), Gabby requests marriage counselling from him. Vinny is initially taken aback, but the counselling seems to work and the two are hit with a sense of renewed hope. Meanwhile, Bob is buoyed when Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths) accepts his apology and buys him a coffee.
