Emmerdale star sends fans wild in ‘amazing’ new Netflix series dubbed ‘show of the year’

A new show about the US navy has captured the attention of Netflix viewers, who have been praising the “amazing” coming-of-age series and begging for a second season. Boots, which premiered on the platform earlier this month, is based on the true story inspired by former US Marine Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine.

The synopsis reads: “Bullied gay teen Cameron joins the Marine Corps with his best friend despite risks. In boot camp they experience profound personal change amid danger, as their platoon confronts both literal and figurative landmines.”

What Netflix viewers may not realise is that one of the show’s stars actually made his acting debut in UK soap, Emmerdale. Kieron Moore, who portrays Nicholas Slovacek in the dramedy, is credited for playing a character called Nav in the ITV series back in 2019.

As well as appearing in Boots, he also appeared on screens as Liam Barlow in Code of Silence earlier this year.

Taking to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Netflix fans expressed their love for Kieron’s performance in new series Boots.

“Kieron Moore from Boots, I need him,” one wrote, while another admitted: “Wtf kieron moore????? This man is too fine.”

“Max Parker and Kieron Moore working together again, yes,” a third praised. “I was the one who asked for it! I love them so much. Go watch Boots on Netflix.”
