SISTER Wives star Christine Brown has revealed a secret addiction to painkillers in her new memoir – admitting the dangerous drug gave her ‘the best high’ of her life.

Christine, 53, made the shocking admission in her memoir, Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom, which was released on September 2.

In the book, Christine revealed she injured her knee and underwent surgery in 2016.

“I had never taken oxycodone before — if something hurt, I took ibuprofen or aspirin,” she wrote in Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom.

“With the surgery, I had already fixed the problem, and it hurt, so I took my meds.”

Christine penned, “On the third day, after the surgery, I felt like I had the flu. I was achy from head to toe.

“I took an oxycodone, and all the symptoms went away. Oh, I thought. I’m not taking this for my knee anymore. I’m taking it because I’m achy everywhere.

“It gave me the best high I ever felt. I was on top of the world and I could accomplish everything!”

Christine explained how she would take the painkiller, drive to work before the drug kicked in and “felt great on set.”

“I could do anything on oxy,” she wrote.

She penned, “All I could do was think about the next hit and it was hours away.”

Two weeks into the drug addiction, sister wife Janelle’s daughter Maddie confronted her.

“You’re a mess. I miss you — we all miss you,” Maddie, 29, said. “We all need you back, so whatever you’re doing, figure it out.”

Christine confessed her addiction to her then-husband, Kody, and began weaning herself off them.

She continued in her memoir, “I never had the high again and I never had the low.

“After about a week of that, Kody took all of the young girls out of town, and I spent the weekend in bed sobbing, watching Pretty Woman over and over and sobbing.

“I couldn’t handle my life, I couldn’t handle anything. My mom stayed with me and took care of me. At the end, I gave the rest of the oxycodone to my mom.”

The Sister Wives star explained it took her six months to feel like herself again.

“I didn’t feel like me and all I wanted was oxycodone, I couldn’t get it and that made me angry,” the book read.

She admitted the memory of the high continues to tempt her.

“I knew I would never feel that high again,” she wrote. “It was that fast to become addicted and then that long to find myself again.”

Christine ended, “I don’t know if I would have been strong enough to get out of it if I hadn’t already discovered that I loved myself enough to want me back.

“But my kids weren’t done with me.”

MARRIAGE OVER

Christine was the first to announce her split from Kody in November 2021.

She moved to Utah with their teen daughter Truely and announced her engagement to David Woolley in April, after just months of dating.

They tied the knot in October 2023 and continue to live in Utah today.

Christine expressed that her unhappiness in her marriage to Kody stemmed from the patriarch spending most of his time at fourth wife Robyn’s home with their five children.

In her memoir, she revealed her dismay over reading in their 2012 family book, Becoming Sister Wives, that her husband was never attracted to her.

“Before we got married, Meri, Kody, and I had got caught in a snowstorm while driving from Salt Lake to Wyoming with a group of people for a retreat at Kody’s parents’ house.

“We’d been in the car for hours after having to pull over and spend the night on the road. I was starving, and we ended up at a gas station. I ate a lot of junk food back then, and chili cheese nachos were my favorite thing.”

Kody wrote in the family book, “The sight of this chubby girl in my car devouring chili cheese nachos for breakfast put the brakes on our relationship.”

Christine continued in her memoir, “Are you serious? I thought after reading the draft. You were disgusted with me when I ate nachos? And you weren’t attracted to me? Why did you marry me?

“This is what you tell the world about your wife? In your forties, when you absolutely know how hurtful it would be — or you should.

“I felt heartbroken reading that book.”
