Roger Howarth’s Mystery Role

Y&R fans may recall that Dylan exited the CBS soap in 2017, when he was placed in the witness protection program. Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) was sad to see her son leave, and his wife at the time, Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) was devastated as well; however, both ladies managed to move past their grief and start a new chapter.

It was announced last week that soap veteran Roger Howarth would be joining the show in a mysterious role. Will he be playing a Dylan McAvoy recast?

The Move No One Saw Coming

As the daytime drama is being so hush-hush about Howarth’s role, it sounds like they are about to shock viewers with something massive and unexpected. There has been a buzz that Howarth could be stepping into another role as a recast – Tucker McCall.

With that said, Howarth is also around the same age as Burton, so there’s always a possibility that he could play Dylan.

Shick is on the cusp of a reunion, so Dylan swooping in would be an interesting twist. Dylan left Sharon under good circumstances, and while he is in the witness protection program, soapy storylines could be rewritten to allow him to return to GC. Sharon would feel torn between Dylan and Nick, plus, Nikki would also feel conflicted between what’s best for both her sons.

Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) recently posted on Instagram, hinting at “more surprises” to come, off the cusp of Howarth’s casting announcement, as well as the news that Tamara Braun was joining the show playing a new character named Sienna Bell.

Even if Howarth is playing Tucker or someone else, there’s always a chance another actor steps in as Dylan to create further excitement.
