Sister Wives Stars Have ‘Final Showdown’ Ahead of Coyote Pass Sale After Repeatedly ’Hurting Each Other’

In the new trailer for season 20, viewers catch a glimpse of the Brown family’s tense exchanges leading up to the long-awaited sale of their shared property

Sister Wives fans are about to be served a fresh dose of drama surrounding the long-awaited sale of Coyote Pass.

In the all-new trailer for season 20 (premiering Sunday, Sept. 28), the Brown family — Kody, Robyn, Janelle and Meri — are caught in a series of tense exchanges in the moments leading up to the sale of the Arizona property. While PEOPLE previously confirmed it was sold for $1.5 million in April, the new season was filmed before the spouses and exes finally offloaded it.

The drama begins when Meri reveals that her ex-husband Kody “called and said that somebody wants a couple pieces of the property,” adding that her money “better not be going through his hands.”

In a confessional-style clip, Kody then notes how he’s hopeful the land will be sold soon, however his last remaining wife in his once-plural marriage, Robyn, has other plans.

“We’re gonna close on Coyote Pass soon,” Kody says, before the scene cuts to Robyn who declares, “This is bulls—. I’m not selling this land until everything is perfectly fair and we do this the right way.”

A clip of Robyn, Kody, Janelle and Meri arriving at the property then pans onto the screen as Janelle says dramatically, “It’s a standoff at the Coyote Pass. Final showdown.”

The group can then be seen standing in a circle on the property as they stare each other down.

“There’s been more effort put into creating pain and hurting each other,” Robyn says. With a shudder, she adds, “Makes me angry.”

The last few seasons of Sister Wives have documented the years of drama that the property has created in the family.

The group first purchased the land in 2018 after moving to Arizona, and it was initially intended to be a large family compound for Kody, his wives and their 18 children.

Their original plan was to build homes on the separate plots so their families could all live close to each other. However, that all changed when their plural marriage began falling apart in the years since.

Christine Brown — who was the first to leave the plural marriage in November 2021 — also had a share of the land at one point, but she sold it back to Kody in August 2022 after their separation.

Meanwhile, Meri and Janelle both announced their separation from Kody within 14 months of Christine leaving.

Since their split, the wives have been candid about the lack of “trust” in the family, especially regarding Coyote Pass and the way Kody has been handling the sale, and last season, tensions were mounting with several players “lawyering up” in expectation of a battle over the plots.
