‘Y&R’ Spoilers: Sharon And Nick Reconnect – But Their Kids’ Needs Could Tear Them Apart
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) children need her help. But the needs of Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) and Noah Newman (recast Lucas Adams) are vastly different.
Viewers have learned about Mariah’s apparent attempted murder of a mysterious old man (played by daytime veteran Michael Swan in flashback scenes) in drips and drabs. The unusual presentation of what is a new storyline and the length of time that tale has been slowly told is hopefully soon over, as Sharon enters the fray.
Separately, Sharon and Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) son, Noah, needs help with a new club. Devoted fans know that Noah’s interest in nightclubs is tied to Nick’s one-time ownership of The Underground, which proved to be a doomed setting.
Once Upon A Time At The Underground
Nick once envisioned himself as an entrepreneur. Providing a hot spot for the locals in Genoa City, Wisconsin, was his goal years before New Hope’s charitable efforts became Nick’s focus.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) thought it was foolish for Nick to open that type of business. That came during one of the periods when Morrow’s character couldn’t stand to play the corporate game.
Soapy fate happened, and The Underground suffered a collapse. Years later, Dina Mergeron (played by the late Marla Adams) burned the place down as her long Alzheimer’s trip ensued. Adams eventually was honored with a Daytime Emmy Award, which was fitting for that great actor.
Mariah Copeland Believes She Killed A Man
Mariah has been troubled for months. It took a long time until she began to discuss what was on her mind.
In what has been a tortured tale, Mariah has revealed that she smothered a man with a pillow. Why she felt attracted to that specific person, a number of decades her senior, is just part of the mystery.
Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) and Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei), whom Mariah recently and oddly confided in, did some recent digging.
The news they returned to town with shook Sharon, who wants to help her daughter in any way that she can. But that’s going to be hard as long as Mariah refuses to allow her loved ones to become involved in whatever solution might be possible.
Nick Newman Has Another Opportunity At Redemption
Sharon told Nick months ago that she was open to exploring reconciliation with him. His feelings for her have developed, but he was hesitant to pursue a romance that could lead to remarriage.
Nick selflessly said that he was afraid he would hurt Sharon, as he had done before. But she countered by saying that she’d hurt him as well, and they’d grown to a different maturity level.
Many who’ve followed Sharon and Nick’s storylines know they diverged nearly two decades ago after Cassie Newman (Grimes’ initial role on Y&R) tragically died.
Among that group, along with newer fans, are those who still believe that the love Sharon and Nick share is deeper than the ties they have through their children.
Maybe Nick will see the light in Los Angeles, California, or at home in GC and take a leap of faith with Sharon. If so, a likely sizable segment of the audience will join them on a restoration and redemption ride.
